Wendelin Henry Schlueter

November 29, 1919 — October 4, 2003

Wendelin Henry Schlueter, 83, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, October 4, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center, Jefferson City. He was born on November 29, 1919 in Taos, MO, the son of August Schlueter and Stella Stegeman Schlueter. He was married on January 31, 1942 in St. Louis to Mary Elizabeth Finney who survives at the home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2003, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, 2301 W. Main Street, Jefferson City, with the Rev. Frederick J. Elskamp officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, 3015 W. Truman Boulevard, Jefferson City. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, October 5th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rosary recited at 5 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Cathedral, 2301 W. Truman Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO 65109. Those wishing to email condolences to the family may do so at www.dulletrimble.com A graduate of St. Peter High School, Mr. Schlueter was employed for twenty-nine years with the A&P Tea Company where he served as store manager; Schulte's IGA Food Store for three years; and retired in 1984 from the Missouri Department of Corrections. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral where he was a Eucharistic Minister for the church and St. Marys Health Center; Legion of Mary; Honor Guard member of the Dan C. Coppin Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus; St. Peter Catholic Church Chorale; Cursillo Movement; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; the YMCA; and managed youth baseball in Jefferson City for forty years. Other survivors include two sons and their wives, Stephen R. and Mary Schlueter, and Tim R. and Becky Schlueter, both of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Sheri Blumberg, Matthew Schlueter, and Scott Schlueter; and two sisters, Annabelle Dunnavant and Audrey Dunnavant, both of Jefferson City.
