Victoria Ellen Gilpin

Victoria Ellen Gilpin, 97, of Russellville, passed away August 5, 2017, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility in Jefferson City.
She was born December 30, 1919, Mobridge, South Dakota the daughter of the late William Alfred and Catherine (Bruner) Wells.
Ellen was united in marriage on March 7, 1936, in Cole County, Missouri to Everett Gilpin who preceded her in death in 1997.
She was a homemaker most of her life and also worked as a housekeeper at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of Cole Springs Baptist Church in Russellville.
Ellen enjoyed quilting and sewing, reading, and fishing. She also enjoyed cooking meals for her family and spending time with them. Sunday dinners were something she looked forward to preparing.
Survivors include five sons, George (Evelyn) Gilpin, Jefferson City; John (Margaret) Gilpin, Florida; Jerry Gilpin, Russellville; Walter (Phyllis) Gilpin, Centertown; Danny (Thelma) Gilpin, Lohman; one daughter, Sharon (Jack) Jenkins, Fulton; 36 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren; 95 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Vernon and Jim Gilpin; six sisters; three brothers; and several other extended family members.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 8th at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville.
A celebration of Ellen’s life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 9th at Cole Springs Baptist Church in Russellville.
Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family suggests Memorials go to Cole Springs Baptist Church in Russellville.
Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
