Tommie E. Rowe

Tommie E. Rowe age 82, received his angel wings on Saturday June 1, 2024, leaving those he loved behind to join our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and those who had gone on before him.

Tommie was born in Steele, Missouri, on July 21, 1941, to the union of Hernando DeSoto Rowe, Sr. and Odessie Lee Sanders Rowe.  He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, two brothers, Alan Thomas and Hernando DeSoto Rowe, Jr., two sisters, Ophelia Rowe and Almeta Rowe Sloan.

Tommie was a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church where he pledged his life to Jesus Christ, and he never lost his love and compassion for all that our Lord and Savior represents and requires of believers.  His faith carried him through many situations in his life that went unspoken to others.  His caring and loving spirit will be missed by those blessed enough to know him.

Tommie served in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant.  A Vietnam Era Veteran having served three tours he was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Marksman Badge, Good Conduct Medals along with others for exemplary service to our country. 

Tommie was a builder, a craftsman and he was well known for always having a clipboard, graph paper and a pencil in hand or nearby because he loved to create.  He was a quiet soft-spoken man but when he talked, others listened.

Tommie leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 51+ years Geneva; two sons and two daughters-in-law, David (Stephanie) Williams of Jefferson City, Missouri; Jason (Kristina) Rowe of Columbia, Missouri; two sisters and one brother-in-love, Carrie (Lloyd) Wade of St. Louis, Missouri; and Ruth Hart of Charleston, Missouri; four grandchildren, Mercedes (Ashley) Barnhill, Nikolas (Morgan) Williams, Kendra Mackey and Aaron Rowe; one great granddaughter, Harper Lee Williams; and nieces, nephews, first cousins, cousins and other relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.  A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. W.T. Edmonson officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Longview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Central Missouri Hospice.
