Tammy J. Korte

Tammy J. Korte, 54, of California, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

She was born July 15, 1967, in Jefferson City, the daughter of John William and Dora Jeanne (Hodges) Asahl.

Tammy was a 1985 graduate of California High School.

Tammy was the office manager for the State Farm office in California and has been inducted into the State Farm Team Member Hall of Fame many times.

She was a lifelong member of Annunciation Catholic Church, The Ladies Sodality, and a PSR teacher. She was involved with the California Girls Relay for Life team and also part of the Relay Committee. Tammy was involved with the Moniteau County Fair as a sales clerk for the Livestock Junior Show, art hall entries and judging for many years.

She was a devoted friend to many and most importantly a mother to more than just her own. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends (Friday Happy Hour). She was always volunteering to help people in the community.

Survivors include two children, Kara Korte (Brent Bolinger); and Ryan Korte (Erin VanDieren), all of California; her parents, John and Dora Asahl, of Clarksburg; three siblings, Rob Asahl, Clarksburg; Amy (Jim) Gerlach, Jamestown; and Jamey Asahl (Carol Birdsong), California; her first grandchild due in September; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2022, at Annunciation Catholic Church in California with a prayer service at 4 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Annunciation Catholic Church in California with the Rev. Anthony J. Viviano, officiating.

Burial will be in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Korte Family Memorial for a future benefit.
