Sharon Kay Kleffner

November 7, 1943 — August 17, 2021

Sharon Kay Kleffner, age 77, of Brinktown, Missouri, departed this life on August 17, 2021, at Primrose Retirement Center with her family by her side.

Sharon was born on November 7, 1943, in Dixon, Missouri to W. Sherman and Jewel Lorraine (Null) Cross.

Sharon was united in marriage on September 8, 1962, in Brinktown, to James “Jim” Joseph Kleffner.

Sharon attended Dixon High School and worked at Brown Shoe factory where she met her husband of 52 years. After her children were grown, Sharon attended Lincoln University and received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in May, 1991 and Master in Guidance and Counseling in May, 1996.

Sharon supported her husband working together on their farm and raising their family. They were elected the Missouri Farm Family of the Year and the American Royal Farm Family of the Year for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Sharon was a member of Holy Guardian Angel Church, Brinktown and was a member of the St. Ann Ladies Sodality, St. Ann Sodality Quilting Ladies and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Argyle. She enjoyed doing various task at the church such as tending to the flowers and plants, making banners and decorating the church for holidays.

Sharon enjoyed making silk flower wreaths and arrangements, quilt piecing, playing Hand and Foot card game, Dime BINGO and visiting with family and friends.

She was very proud of her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was attending their activities.

Survivors include her three children: Paul (Penny) Kleffner and Lisa (Brian) Johnson of Jefferson City and Larry (Donna) Kleffner of Brinktown. One brother, Raymond (Opal) Cross, Newburg. Five Grandchildren: Cory (Peter) Myren, Shae Johnson and Ryan Kleffner of Jefferson City; Rachel (Adam) Welch, Prairie Village, Kansas and Caitlyn Kleffner, Brinktown. One Great-Grandson: Beckett Myren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Bill “Junior”, Bennie, Pierce, Robert “Bob”, Frank, Larry, Jackie Cross and Bonnie Ferry. Brothers-in-law, Myron Ferry, Duane Robertson and Raymond Winkelman. Sisters-in-law, Maxine Cross, Betty Cross and Rosalie Cross. Nephews Ivan Cross and Aaron Allen.

A rosary and prayer service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City with visitation following from 4:30-7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Friday at Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Brinktown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Brinktown, Missouri with the Rev. Msgr. Marion Makarewicz officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged while in attendance at any of the services.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family of Mrs. Kleffner to the Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Brinktown.
