Rosemary Flora Grothoff

Rosemary Flora (Knernschield) Grothoff, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Landmark Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. She was born September 6, 1928, in Lohman, Missouri, the daughter of the late Otto Andrew and Hilda Philomena (Hackman) Knernschield. She was united in marriage on November 6, 1954, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City to Francis Joseph Grothoff who died September 16, 1959. A 1946 graduate of St. Peter High School, Rosemary worked for the Missouri State Office of Administration, retiring in 1993. In previous years, she worked for the International Shoe Company and the Missouri State Dental Board. Rosemary was a dedicated member and volunteer at St. Peter Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality. She loved to bowl, dance, play cards, quilt with her sisters and watch Cardinal baseball. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three children, Mike (Patty) Grothoff, Olathe, KS; Debbie (Mitch) Vaughan, Centertown; and Dennis (Robin) Grothoff, Springfield; six grandchildren, Kelly (Tony) Schuetz, Matthew Grothoff, Scott Vaughan, Gary Vaughan, Kyle (Emily) Grothoff, and Kurtis (fiance, Marcela Trochez) Grothoff; two great-grandchildren, Drew Schuetz, and Ethan Schuetz; and one brother, Francis Knernschield, Topeka, KS. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Antweiler, Mildred Kiesling, and Lavern "Neda" Grothoff. Visitation will be 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler officiating. Memorials are suggested to Vogelweid Learning Center, 314 W.
