Rodolfo “Rudy” Marines, 65, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on January 8, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Gabriel and Aurora (Bosquez) Marines, Sr. 

He was united in marriage on May 5, 2021, in Cole County to Jan-Marie Haislet who resides at the home.

Rudy enlisted with the United States Navy when he was just seventeen years old. He was proud to serve his country just as many relatives had done before him.

Rudy was a fuel delivery driver for Western Oil Company and over the years worked for various trucking companies.

He attended St. Peter Catholic Church and was a member of the Missouri Beekeepers Association. 

Rudy enjoyed woodworking, beekeeping, raising chickens and had a variety of pets. He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on cars, especially Camaros which was the car of his choice. He valued family time and used his creativity in developing recipes, serving all sorts of cuisine, smoking meats, and barbequing. 

He is survived by his wife Jan-Marie; children, Robert Marines, Dallas, Texas; Rudy Marines, Jr., San Antonio, Texas; Alma Rose Marines, San Antonio, Texas; and Ulysses Marines, Reno, Nevada; Thomas (Victoria) Shields, Holts Summit; and Colton (fiancé Melody Devin) Shields, Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Mara Shields, Lilly Shields, Tirion Shields, and Raven Shields; and two sisters, Rose (Robert “Bob”) Mehmert, Jefferson City; and Mary Helen Rubio, Norwalk, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gabriel Marines, Jr., and a brother-in-law, John Rubio, Sr.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Robert Kurwicki, VG officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
