Robert Eugene "Bob" Winkler

Robert “Bob” Winkler, 90, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Heisinger Bluffs.

He was born June 6, 1933, in California, MO, the son of the late William and Ardalie (Kiso) Winkler.

Bob was a 1950 graduate of California High School.

Bob served his country in Korea in the 101 Airborne.

Bob was united in marriage on April 22, 1956, in Russellville to Lydia Niederwimmer who preceded him in death on April 6, 2013. He later married Dwena Kueffer on October 19, 2013, who survives in Jefferson City.

He worked for Benchcraft in St. Louis, installing industrial storage equipment around the nation (plus Saudi Arabia), until retiring in 1998 as vice president of operations, after 40 years of service. In retirement he returned to California, MO and enjoyed working on the farm, hunting mushrooms, and watching the Cardinals, Royals and Chiefs, and brightening days wherever he went. Later in life he was an avid reader and jigsaw puzzler.

Survivors include his wife, Dwena; Children, Pamela (deceased), Alan (Denise) Winkler, Florissant, MO; Gary (Rae) Winkler, St. Louis; two grandchildren, Rachel Winkler and Valerie Winkler; sibling, Clara (David) Inglish, California; a sister-in-law, Fern Winkler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Walter Winkler; a sister and brother-in-law, Eileen (Gale) Wittenberger.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Heisinger Bluffs Chapel in Jefferson City, followed by a service at 10 a.m. with the Pastor Jim Mueller officiating.

Graveside Service will be 11:30 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in California with Pastor Evandro Kooper, Officiating.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
