Richard William Strobel, 77, of Centertown, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born September 27, 1945, in Centertown, the son of Earnest Joseph and Frieda Henrietta Sophia (Bringmann) Strobel.
He was united in marriage on August 4, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville to Rose Lee Martin who survives at the home.
He graduated from Russellville High School in 1963 before dedicating several years to working as a mechanic and maintenance worker for the State of Missouri. Later in life, he also took up farming and spent many years cultivating his love of John Deere tractors.
Richard was a man of many passions and hobbies. He was a true human compass; always knowing the right direction. He was incredibly skilled at woodworking and often made gifts for his family and friends. He also had an inherent talent for making wine and molasses, which he happily shared with those around him. Richard had a taste for hot and spicy food and loved nothing more than digging into a fish fry with loved ones.
While Richard was proud of his many accomplishments, what he valued most was his role as a loving husband to Rose Lee. He was an exceptional role model for his children and grandchildren - always showing up when they needed him most. Richard had an adventurous spirit that never waned, whether spending long nights working on Sudoku puzzles or chasing his grandkids around with his skid steer or 4-wheeler.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Strobel, Centertown; four children, Danielle (James) Allen, Centertown; Emily (Mark) Braun, Osage Bend; Amanda (Bart) Phillips, Russellville; Matt (Katie) Strobel, Centertown; seven grandchildren, Amber Braun, Brandon Allen, Danessa Strobel, Ava Phillips, Owen Allen, Joe Strobel, Georgia Phillips; and three siblings, Lucille Rosenmiller, California; Norman (Carolyne) Strobel, Holts Summit; and Mike Strobel, Centertown.
