Regina Lee Richter

April 17, 1937 — June 9, 2018

Regina Lee Richter, 81, of Wardsville passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Regina was born on April 17, 1937, in Wardsville. She was the daughter of the late John and Frances (VanLoo) Wilbers. She was united in marriage on October 12, 1957, in Wardsville, to Donald Paul Richter who preceded her in death on October 11, 1998. Regina worked for several years as a Lab Technician for the Missouri Department of Agriculture. She spent the majority of her life as a loving homemaker to her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved being a hard worker on the farm with her husband including working in her large garden, she was a terrific cook most remembered for making lep cookies during the Christmas season and fried donuts for the grandkids the morning after a sleep over. She was always more than happy to babysit her grandkids whenever needed. She loved her dog Toto and would take her with her everywhere she could, if she was not able to bring Toto she made sure someone could come take her out every few hours so Toto was not alone. Whenever baseball season hit, you could often find Regina sitting in her chair cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals… and if they were losing you would know that too. She loved watching the Blair Oaks Softball team, if there was a home game you could not miss her in the stands. Regina was devoted to her faith. She prayed the rosary daily and had a list of prayers she said every night before bed. She also participated in Perpetual Adoration Chapel at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Regina was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality and was a past 4-H leader in Wardsville. Survivors include four children, Jeff (Mary) Richter, Wardsville; Russell (Eileen) Richter, Taos; Kevin (Shelley) Richter, Wardsville and Julie (Doug) Middleton, Wardsville.
