Phyllis Irene Peddicord

Phyllis Irene Peddicord, 98, of St. Martins, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at her residence.

She was born October 16, 1924, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Philip Insley and Ella Mae (Cells) Andrews.

Phyllis had an exceptional career as an office manager at Aqua Fine Chemical Company, where she devoted many years of her life.  Additionally, Phyllis contributed her talents as a sales assistant at JC Penney's for a considerable period of time.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Springfield, Illinois.  Her spirituality and devotion to her faith were evident in all aspects of her life.

Outside of work and church, Phyllis found joy in various activities. She had a passion for travel and embraced the opportunity to explore different places whenever she could. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, bringing her immense happiness and fulfillment. Furthermore, Phyllis had a deep affinity for all animals, cherishing their companionship throughout her life.  Phyllis also enjoyed playing word games, which challenged her mind and provided entertainment.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Tom) Hartman, Jefferson City; four step-sons, Randy (Julie) Peddicord, Steve (Janie) Peddicord, Mark (Libby) Peddicord, Danny Peddicord; many grandchildren including Brian Hickman, Florence, SC; Amy (Bill) Rusk, Harrisonville, MO; Melissa Hart, Columbia, MO; Christopher Hartman, Harrisonville, MO; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janet Bounds; two sons, David and Gary Garlo; one step-son, Tim Peddicord; three sisters; and three brothers.

A celebration gathering will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.

Memorials are suggested to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003 in Jefferson City.
