Peggy Ann Redel, 58, of Kansas City, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, with her loving family by her side at North Kansas City Hospital. She was born July 5, 1958, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Charles Jacob "Chuck" and Lillian Frances (Renkemeyer) Redel. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and was a 1976 graduate of Helias High School. Peggy worked for Demolay, Butler Manufacturing and most recently worked at H & R Block in Customer Service. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Kansas City. Peggy enjoyed reading, boating and camping at Smithville Lake with her life partner Mike, and cheering for the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. Peggy was known for her quirky personality, her concern for the well-being of others, and her strong desire for others to always be happy. Peggy will always be remembered for her strong will and her strong soul. Survivors include her mother, Lillian Redel, Jefferson City; her life partner, John Michael Martinez, Kansas City; her sister, Pamela (Denny) Osburn, Kansas City; her niece and Godchild, Paden Kathryn Osburn, Boston, MA; several aunts and uncles; and many friends and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Redel; paternal grandparents, George and Antonia Redel; and maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Frances Renkemeyer. Visitation will be 4:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Antweiler and the Rev. I.C. Medina concelebrating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and School to continue the legacy of her father's memory.
