She was a volunteer with the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and a Cole County Election Judge. She enjoyed physical fitness, needlework, bike riding with her brother Jim, and was an avid walker, reader, and fan of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. Most of all, Joy enjoyed spending time with her children and hosting family get-togethers. A visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Louis Area Foodbank, 70 Corporate Woods Drive, Bridgeton, MO 63044; or to Planned Parenthood Great Plains whose donation instructions can be found on their website.
