Mary Elizabeth Schlueter, 99, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Adams Street Place.
She was born on October 18, 1919, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Harry Randolph and Mary Elizabeth (Luetkwitte) Finney.
She was united in marriage in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 31, 1942 to Wendel Henry Schlueter who preceded her in death on October 4, 2003.
Mary worked for the Department of Revenue until her retirement in 1984.
She was a founding member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph; Legion of Mary Auxiliary; and YMCA.
She was a volunteer cook at St. Joseph Cathedral School while her children and two grandsons attended school there. In addition, she was a Cub Scout den leader at St. Joseph and volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Tim (Becky) Schlueter, Jefferson City; a daughter-in-law, Mary Schlueter, Phoenix, Arizona; a granddaughter, Sheri Blumberg, Columbia; two grandsons, Matt (Candace) Schlueter, St. Peters, Missouri and Scott (Alesha) Schlueter, Jefferson City; and four great-grandchildren, Trina Blumberg, Nicholas Schlueter, Henry Schlueter, and James Schlueter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendel; a son, Steve Schlueter; a sister, Dorothy (Ted) Schmidt; and four brothers, Harry (Ida) Finney, Mick Finney, Frank (Roseann) Finney, and Bill (Betty) Finney.
Visitation will be 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Joshua J. Duncan officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
