Marilyn Kucks, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017, at Villa Marie. Marilyn, affectionately known as Nan or Nanny to her grandchildren, was born in October 1928, in Chicago, IL, the eighth child of eleven to Frederick H. and Lillian E. (McPhillips) Miller. Sadly, Bill died in a traffic crash on Memorial Day, 1978, near their home. She moved to Boonville in 1979, to live by her youngest daughter and her family. On May 15, 1981, she married John T. Gibson in Boonville. She and John enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful cook and always was inviting someone to have a meal with them. He died January 30, 1986. She later married Louis Kucks and he preceded her in death. In 1993, she moved to Jefferson City, and at the time of her death she lived at the Primrose Retirement Community. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Kathleen and husband Ernest Raub, Jefferson City; three grandsons, Jeffery and Paige Owen, Platte City; Eric Raub, Carl Junction; Jason Owen, Blue Springs; great grandsons; Damon Owen, Johnathan Owen, Jerin Munn; great granddaughters, Taylor Owen and KayLyn Munn; as well as many nieces and nephews.
