Marie Elizabeth Gentzsch, age 93, of Jamestown, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Heisinger Bluffs West.
She was born December 15, 1929, in Jamestown, Missouri, the daughter of John Edward and Clara Adeline Sidonia (Heyssel) Willers.
Marie was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Marie was united in marriage on September 10, 1950, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in California, to Harold William Gentzsch who preceded her in death on March 16, 2018.
Marie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She loved to preserve food that came from her garden and a grower of flowers, especially daylilies. She was an avid Jamestown Eagles fan, especially if her children and grandchildren were playing. She liked watching MU Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs. She loved watching and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, David (Terri) Gentzsch, Jefferson City; Steven Gentzsch, Holts Summit; Clarice Brown (Jesse Emmons), Jamestown; Michael (Tracy) Gentzsch, Jamestown; Jean (Jeff) Padgett, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Chris Gentzsch; two sisters, Pauline Simmers and Geraldine Gentzsch; and one infant brother.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in California, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown, Missouri.
Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Jamestown.
