Margaret Irma “Margie” Rackers, 92, of Wardsville, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, from her earthly home peacefully surrounded by all her children to now dwell with her heavenly Father.

She was born May 27, 1931, in Wardsville, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur and Emma (Van Loo) Schnieders.  She was a 1949 graduate of St. Peter Catholic High School (now known as Helias Catholic High School).

She was united in marriage on September 29, 1951, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville to Harold L. Rackers who preceded her in death on November 9, 2009.  To this union, they were blessed with seven children.

Margie dedicated her life to others as a certified home health aide for over 25 years. Alongside her profession, she embraced the role of a nurturing homemaker with unwavering love and devotion.

Her faith held a central place in Margie's life, as she was a lifelong active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.  In her commitment to serving others, she participated in various Church organizations such as the Legion of Mary, Sodality of Our Lady, perpetual adoration, rosary leader, Queen of Peace Prayer Group, and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.  Margie's involvement extended beyond the Parish community; she engaged with the quilting committee, Missouri Right to Life, Walk for Life, Birthright organization and served as a 4-H Club leader.

Margie was a member of multiple associations including the Wardsville Over 50 Club, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, Capital Region Partners, WOW Club of Wardsville, and the IBEW retiree group.  Through these affiliations, Margie found solace in social connections while continuing to make a positive impact on those around her.

Outside her service-oriented endeavors, Margie possessed a creative spirit that found expression in quilting and sewing.  She dedicated countless hours to crafting clothing items for her beloved family members.  Gardening allowed Margie to cultivate beauty while canning presented an opportunity for her talents to nourish her family throughout the year.

Above all, Margie reveled in being a Prayer Warrior.  Her unwavering dedication to God exemplified her steadfast commitment to nurturing faith and seeking blessings in every aspect of life.

Survivors include seven children, Dale (Roberta) Rackers, Henley; Mary (Joe) Besche, St. Martins; Emilie (Dale) Verslues, Taos; Judy Eiken, Wardsville; Janet (Jim) Booth, New Bloomfield; Darlene (Alfred) Savage, Wardsville; Ron (Rhonda) Rackers, Taos; 23 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Rose (Charles) Shelton, Wardsville; two sisters-in-law, Edna Lindenbusch, Jefferson City and Virginia Rackers of Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Rackers; one sister, Anna Mae (Ed) Lage; and three brothers, Ben (Rosemary) Schnieders, Joe (Susie) Schnieders, and Tom (Joan) Schnieders.

Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a prayer service at 4 p.m.  Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating.

Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
