Lowell Ray Perrigo

Lowell Ray Perrigo, 72, of Holts Summit, passed away, Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

He was born January 7, 1947, on a farm in Monroe County, the son of the late George Lowell and Opal Mae (Blackwell) Perrigo.

Ray served with the United States Army National Guard.

He was united in marriage on July 27, 1968 at the Christian Church in Perry, Missouri to Diana Gayle Bowling, who resides at the home.

Retiring after twenty-seven years as a delivery driver for United Parcel Service, Ray worked in earlier years for Kaiser Refractory, Holsum Bread Company and Oliver Trucking.

He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus, Charter Member, Council 8400; American Legion, Post 221, Paris, Missouri; and served on the Holts Summit Civic Senior Housing Board.

Ray enjoyed hunting, raising bird dogs, fishing, and vegetable and flower gardening. He managed the Coca-Cola Classics softball team and several competitive baseball teams. Spending time with his family and his bird dogs were his favorite pastimes, but he loved being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Diana; two daughters, Julie (David) Ruetz, Holts Summit; Sara (Lance) Martin, New Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Ridge Martin, Tyler Martin, Clayton Martin, and Natalie Ruetz; and four sisters, Joyce (Billy Jo) Young, Central Point, Oregon; Betty Hontz, Union Star, Missouri; Ruth Scott, Mexico, Missouri; and Jolene Giltrap, Mexico, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law, Harold Hontz and Gene Scott.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at St. Andrew Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Gregory L. Higley officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Missouri Cancer Associates, 1705 East Broadway, Unit 100, Columbia, Missouri 65201; or to St. Andrew Catholic Church, 400 St. Andrew Dr., Holts Summit, MO 65043.
