Lowell Ransom Ginter

May 8, 1946 — November 17, 2018

Lowell Ransom Ginter, 72, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, in Barnett following a long battle with heart disease.

He was born May 8, 1946, in Stockton, California, the son of the late Aubrey and Ruby (Dorrell) Ginter.

He served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany from 1963 to 1966.

He was united in marriage on December 11, 1966, in Carson City, Nevada, to Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Sommers who survives at the home.

Lowell worked as a truck driver and as a driver and maintenance caretaker for D & K Bus Service. He enjoyed the Osage Bend route and especially loved being the driver for the Blair Oak Softball Team.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and tinkering in his shop.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ginter, Wardsville; one sister, Laurel Barlow, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosie (Nino) Schaefer, Florissant; Eddie (Rosetta) Sommers, Barnett; Gary (Linda) Sommers, Wardsville; Lucy Hess, Columbia; Steve Falter, Westphalia; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lloyd and Loren Ginter; one sister, Leta Taber; sister-in-law, Joanne Falter; and brother-in-law, Richard Sommers.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Central Missouri Honor Flight, 1400 Forum Blvd., Ste. 7-A, Box 334, Columbia, Missouri 65203.
