Loretta Mae Schubert

Loretta Mae Schubert, 96, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

She was born July 15, 1927, in Cole County, the daughter of Theodore and Lessie L. (Johnston) Rockelman.

On January 23, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Loretta was united in marriage to Almon Schubert who preceded her in death on May 1, 1974.

She graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1946.  She worked for Capital City Telephone Company, Jefferson City Public Schools, and retired from Exchange Bank (Hawthorn Bank) in 1990.

Loretta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a life-time member of the Trinity Women’s Auxiliary.

Loretta was a very happy and laughable person.  She enjoyed crafts, crocheting blankets for residents of Nursing Homes, traveling, working with her flowers, and going to car shows with her son, Neal.

Survivors include one son, Neal Schubert; one daughter-in-law, Dianna Schubert; three grandsons, Gabriel Schubert (April), Jeremiah Schubert (Nicole), Joshua Schubert; six great-grandchildren, Kaytlin Schubert, Jeremiah Schubert II, Kayla Schubert, Skye Schubert, Kaleb Schubert, Ashlee Steffensen; two great-great-granddaughters, Catalina and Lia; one sister-in-law, Joan Taylor; one niece, Leslie Rocha; and numerous other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronald M. Schubert; and one brother, Theodore E. Rockelman, Jr.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.  A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Samual Powell officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Women’s Auxiliary, 803 Swifts Highway, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
