Kay Ellen Bluml, 82, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born June 23, 1941, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Percival Martin “PM” and Grace Wilma (Peak) Murray.
She was united in marriage on October 26, 1959, in Sioux City, Iowa to Felix A. Bluml who survives at the home.
Kay lived a life dedicated to the well-being of her family. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she placed family above all else. Kay cherished her role as a loving mother, making time to be an active PTA member and room mother for each of her four children over the years. She was an expert baker and her bread and pumpkin pies were favorites among the family. She enjoyed traveling to 47 states throughout the country with her husband in their motorhome.
Kay was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. In addition to her selfless dedication to family, Kay enjoyed participating in sorority activities and ladies and couples golf.
Survivors include her husband, Felix Bluml, Jefferson City; four children, Benjamin (Elaine) Bluml, Lee’s Summit, MO; Karen (Richard) Antweiler, Jefferson City; Nancy (Mike) Hackler, Jefferson City; John (Kristi) Bluml, North Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Shanna) Bluml, Cassandra (Brandon) Atchison, Chris Bluml (Tiffany Hostikka), Colton Bluml (Audrey Clark), Brittany (Colton) Price, Ryan Hackler (Maddie Sharp); and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol (Roland) Kitchen.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Jones and the Rev. Donald Antweiler concelebrating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of St. Joseph or to St. Joseph Catholic School.
