Joan Kathryn Koestner

Joan Kathryn Koestner, age 81, of Russellville, Missouri, passed away May 4^th, 2023, at Arrowhead Senior Living in Osage Beach, MO.

Joan was born May 26, 1941, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Victor and Nadine Scott, who preceded her in death.

On February 18, 1962, she was united in marriage to Harley Koestner at Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville, Missouri. He survives in Russellville.

She was a 1959 graduate of California High School.  Joan worked for the Missouri Department of Insurance, worked at the Missouri State Capitol, and co-owned the family business, Koestner Office Products, Inc. in Jefferson City, Missouri from 1974 until 2017.  She retired in 2007.

Joan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville.  Joan loved traveling the world, baking, and spending time with friends and family.  She enjoyed watching the wildlife on the farm, and counting the number of deer she could see in the fields.  She especially loved talking with her daughter every day, even the daily phone calls after her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Harley, of Russellville; daughter, Sherri Wilbers and her husband Lee of Lake Ozark; sister, Marilyn Brandt; sisters-in-law, Wanda Larimore (David), Linda Smith (Dale) and Joyce Kirchner; nieces, Debbie Brandt, Michelle Fleshman, Sarah Otto, and Kate Smith; nephews, Scott Brandt, Michael Larimore, Aaron Larimore, Kevin Kirchner, and Kris Kirchner; along with several great nieces and great nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Alfred Brandt and Darrell Kirchner.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes - Russellville.  Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ed Merckel officiating.

Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Russellville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
