Jeffery Campbell

October 9, 1960 — December 1, 2023

Russellville, Missouri

Jeffery Ray Campbell, 63, of Russellville passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

He was born October 9, 1960 in Jefferson City to the late Gilbert “Kenneth” and Roena (Blochberger) Campbell.  After graduating from Russellville High School as the best looking guy in town, Jeff then earned his Associates Degree in Drafting from Linn State. Jeff worked his entire career for the Missouri Department of Transportation, first in design before retiring as a Senior Estimator in 2016.

If you knew Jeffery, you loved him instantly. He was nothing but good energy, looking to keep things light and have a good time. Whether you were part of his very tight group of friends who would meet up after work or his crew at the Russellville bar, he loved putting a few back as he continued his work as the unofficial spokesperson for Stag beer, while trying like hell to take your money at whatever game he came up with that day. He loved to tee it up on the golf course, a career which included his hole in one at Redfield he was not going to let you forget about. In his younger years he enjoyed softball, bowling, and shooting pool as well. Jeff was a lifelong St Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan, finding it so entertaining he would even get caught rewatching Super Bowl and Worlds Series victories to again bask in the glory. He loved going on bike trips with friends and family, and later in life always looked forward to his yearly excursions with his closest friends, who loved him like family. Jeff was never happier than when he was at home being a dad and grandparent, hanging out in the sun with his animals or playing games with his friends and family, with music playing loud and food on the grill. He loved his family deeply and never hesitated to make sure they were cared for as best he could, as soon as he could. He was a very proud grandparent that would brag on the grandkids at every opportunity, and a present, available, reliable, consistent, caring father who always set the example of how to be there for someone and treat others. He was simple in all the best ways, living life as the young, beautiful soul he was, and everywhere Jeffery went was better because he was there.

Survivors include two children, Joshua (Teena) Campbell and Ashley (Rick) Shannon,  and six grandchildren, Jayden, Joslyn, Kaia, Kaden, Annabel and Decklan, all of Russellville; eight siblings, Judy Cliburn of Centertown, Jane (Greg) Zellner of Palm Coast, FL, Joy Holiday of Jefferson City, June (Terry) Bellora of Palm Coast, FL, Janalee (David) Wood of Russellville, Jean (Dan) Klindt of Kansas City, Jim (Barb) Campbell of Russellville and Julie Smith of Russellville; the mother of his children, Ginger Grellner of Russellville and many nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry and Johnny, and two brothers-in-law, Alan Cliburn and Paige Holiday.
