James M. Weber, Jr.

March 16, 1952 — April 20, 2024

James M. Weber, Jr. (72), of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday April 20, 2024.  James, fondly known as Jim or “Juice”, was born to James M. and Julia (Mueller) Weber, on March 16, 1952, in Jefferson City, Missouri.   He grew up in Jefferson City and graduated from Helias High School in 1970. He attended Central Missouri State University and Kansas State University and received his Bachelor of Architecture.

On March 19, 1977, Jim married Joyce (Matthews) Weber and raised two children, Elizabeth and Jason, in a home filled with bad dad jokes, sports on in the background and laughter. His love of the outdoors was evident with the many trips he dragged his family on to explore caves and historic sites. He also loved heading to Binder Lake to wave surf.  He was involved with coaching little league baseball and boy scouts, of which he received the rank of Eagle Scout as a child.

Jim started his career working for the City of Jefferson as the Supervisor of Building Regulations. He then worked for the State of Missouri as a Senior Project Manager for the Division of Design and Construction. He finished his career as a Design Consultant for Lincoln University before officially retiring in 2008.

Jim was a talented athlete, and excelled at football, baseball and track and field. When he finished high school, he held multiple track and field records. He still holds a record at Helias High School for the Low Hurdles, though that might be because that event is no longer held. Jim loved watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Kansas City Chiefs Football.   He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, BBQing (badly) and creating new food “recipes”.  He loved western movies, listening to music, and beginning projects he had no intention of completing.  He was also an avid gardener and spent hours relaxing and tending to his plants and garden.

Jim is survived by his two children, Elizabeth Weber-Haynes (Charles), of Jefferson City and Jason Weber, of Wentzville.  He is also survived by his five siblings: Mary Beth Ochsner (Stan), Annie Bardgett (Warren Fridley), John Weber (Kris), Margaret Rush (Dave), and Joe Weber (Jennifer), along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Joyce (Matthews) Weber.

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, there will be a visitation at Trimble Funeral Homes-Jefferson City from 10:00am-12:00pm, followed by a prayer service at 12:00pm.  Deacon Ed Stroesser will officiate.  Trimble Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. trimblefunerals.com
