James Michael "Mike" Curry

James Michael "Mike" Curry, 65, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 1, 1953, in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of James William "Bill" and Wilma Clara (Howard) Curry.

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

He was united in marriage on August 16, 1975, in Loose Creek, to Wanneta Marie Haslag who survives at the home.

Mike worked for Unilever as a Packaging Reliability Technician from 1972 until his retirement on October 31, 2015.

Mike’s passion for athletics led him to play slow pitch softball for over 25 years, played in pool tournaments, but most of all cheering on his daughter during her high school and college basketball career. One of his proudest moments was watching his daughter, Jill, be inducted into the Drury Basketball Hall of Fame.

Mike was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, he also enjoyed traveling, float trips, concerts, movies, reading, and loved to listen to classic rock music.

Survivors include his wife, Wanneta Curry, Jefferson City; one daughter, Jill (Jeffrey) Regier, Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Jet, Jace, and Jayla Regier; his father, Bill Curry, Jefferson City; one sister, Linda McArthur, Jefferson City; and his father-in-law, Jerome Haslag, Loose Creek.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Bradford "Brad" Curry; his mother, Wilma Curry; and his mother-in-law, Janet (Schaefer) Haslag.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Deacon John Schwartze officiating.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Liver Association.
