IOLA ELIZABETH BRADLEY

October 28, 1928 — January 1, 2011

Iola Elizabeth Bradley, 82, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, January 1, 2011, at her residence.
She was born on October 28, 1928, in Macon County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Ralph Emil and Gladys Iola White Bradley. When Iola was five years of age the family moved to Jefferson City where she was educated in the Jefferson City School System. Upon high school graduation, she attended the Jefferson City Junior College for one year then transferred to the University of Missouri in Columbia, attaining a Masters Degree in music education. Iola taught music in the Mexico, Missouri school system for over thirty years and upon her retirement returned to Jefferson City. She was also the music director for the Methodist Church in Mexico for a number of years.
Iola was a member of First Baptist Church in Jefferson City where she was very active singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. She played cello with the Jefferson City Symphony Orchestra for over fifty years. She was a member of P.E.O in Mexico, the Capitol City Womens Club, an affiliate of the General Federated Womens Clubs, and various other organizations.
Survivors include: one brother, Ralph L. Bradley, Jefferson City; three nephews, William C. Bradley and family of Huntsville, Ala.; Ralph L. Bradley of Independence, Mo; Aaron B. Bradley of New Orleans, La.; two nieces, Megan B. Bradley McGuire and family of Boonville, Mo.; and Barbara Bradley of Chicago, Ill.; and five great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Howard, and William Bradley.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Burial will be in Olivet Cemetery in Marceline, Missouri.
