Herbert Herb Joseph Bruemmer, age 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at his residence with family by his side. He was born June 22, 1934, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to the late Lawrence Louis and Matilda Marie Tillie (Schnieders) Bruemmer Sr. Herb was united in marriage on April 16, 1955, at St. Margarets Church, Osage Bend, Missouri, to Catherine Agnes Hoelscher, who survives. He worked as an electrician for 45 years and was member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 257, and retired in 1996. He received his 65-year IBEW membership pin in 2017. Herbs hobby was farm life with his wife and family. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal baseball. Herb was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Holy Name Society, and Knights of Columbus. He also served as a volunteer at the Samaritan Center. In addition to his wife Catherine; Herb is survived by eight children, Bernie (Carla) Bruemmer, Mary Ellen (John) Lansford, Don (Jody) Bruemmer, Jim (Suzie) Bruemmer, Mark (Michele) Bruemmer, Steve (Dana) Bruemmer, Glenn (Michelle) Bruemmer, and Julie (Dan) Weber; 22 grandchildren, Brad (Melissa) Bruemmer, Sarah Bruemmer (fiance Cole Stegeman), Katie (Adam) Bashore, Matt (Emily) Lansford, Mitch (Beth) Lansford, Jason (Blair) Lansford, Jeff (Kasey) Lansford, Dalton Bruemmer, Audrey Bruemmer, Aggie Bruemmer, Jessica (Ryan) Vossen, Curtis Bruemmer (fiance Nicole Morris), Stephanie Bruemmer, Blair Bruemmer (fiance Trent Kay), Clayton Bruemmer (fiance Kimberly Jensen), Elizabeth Bruemmer, Rebecca Bruemmer, Rachel Bruemmer, Ben Bruemmer, Thomas Bruemmer, James Weber, Anna Weber; and 10 great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Robert Bob (Dorothy) Bruemmer, Rosemary Schulte, Earl (Gnell) Bruemmer, and Lawrence Junior (Lori) Bruemmer. He is also survived by Catherines siblings: Dorothy Veit, Irvin (Shirley) Hoelscher, and Lucille (Richard) Welschmeyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Jane Ann; infant brothers, Leroy Bruemmer and Bernard Bruemmer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Victor (Marian) (Monica) Bruemmer; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard (Mildred) Bruemmer; and brother-in-law, Anthony Schulte. Herb was preceded in death on Catherines side by Clarence (Mildred) Hoelscher, Sister Rose Virginia, and Clarence Veit. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to Masses. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
