Gregory Alan Rackers

Jefferson City, Missouri

Gregory Alan (Greg) Rackers, 40, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his residence.

He was born May 13, 1983, in Columbia, Missouri to Doug and Denise (Nadzam) Rackers.

Greg began attending Goshorn Handicap Center at the age of 1 and then attended the Special Learning Center after Peter Pan school and Goshorn merged to form The Special Learning Center. Greg's passion for learning led him to graduate from Blair Oaks High School in 2002. He continued his education by attending classes at the University of Missouri, Lincoln University, and Columbia College.

Throughout his life, Greg had a heart full of happiness. He dedicated many years to volunteering with Noah's Ark Day Care and the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, where he selflessly served and cared for others.

Sports held a special place in Greg's heart. Wrestling was a particular favorite of his, along with the KC Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. He possessed an impressive wealth of knowledge when it came to sport statistics. He also enjoyed playing video games, excelling at Trivial Pursuit and Hangman. Greg’s vivacious spirit was contagious; he was known as Mr. Jokester because of his constant upbeat nature and infectious smile. He always had a joke to tell.

In addition to his love for sports and laughter, Greg cherished his furry companions dearly. His fur babies - Buddy, Bucky, and Bentley - brought immeasurable joy to his life.

Greg will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. His compassionate nature and zest for life will leave an indelible mark on our hearts.
