Gloria Jean Seeney

Gloria Jean Seeney, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 30, 1944, in New Florence, Missouri to Floyd Sylvester and Margaret (Galbreath) Johnson.

Gloria was a graduate of Montgomery City High School and earned her associate degree in License Practical Nursing from Lincoln University.

She was married to James Seeney, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 26, 2006.

Gloria worked in the clerical field.  She was an avid shopper, enjoyed gardening and flowers, and spent time reading.

Survivors include her son, James (Heather) Seeney, III, Hillsboro, NJ; one grandson, James Seeney, IV; seven siblings, Donald (Maryann) Johnson, Jefferson City; Margaret (Ralph) Butler, Jefferson City; Floyd Johnson, Holts Summit; Richard (Patsy) Johnson, Jefferson City; Mable “Marie” (John “J”) Williams, Riverview, FL; Loretta (Ronnie) Ferguson, Harker Heights, TX; Mary (Herbert) Gonder, Madison, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Cecil Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Percy and Norma Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Mary Johnson.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Marion Mitchell officiating.  Burial will follow at Montgomery City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
