George August Albright

George August Albright, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at his home.

He was born May 11, 1934, in Jefferson City, the eldest of three children to Clarence Carroll and Audra (Callahan) Albright.

George was a 1952 graduate of Jefferson City Senior High School.

He served his country in the United States Army.

He was married in 1955 to Julia Brunori who preceded him in death on October 2, 2020.  In 2021, George married Jeannie Rachel Heady who survives at the home.

George worked as a logistics manager in the nuclear industry for many years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, received many blue ribbons with the Jefferson City Photo Club, was a designer and competitor of RC model planes, was a professional bowler with the PBA tour, and following retirement was one of the first “Grasscutters” with a trailer in Jefferson City.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Albright, Jefferson City; a daughter, Cindy (John) Frank, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Howard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Julia Albright; and a daughter, Sherry Lynn Poore.

Services will be held at a later date at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Jefferson City.

Memorials are suggested to the Missionary fund at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
