Florence Marie Branson, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Villa Marie.
She was born August 31, 1931, in Westphalia, the adopted daughter of the late John and Theresa (Schaefer) Schmitz.
She was married on October 5, 1957, in Westphalia, to James William Branson, who preceded her in death on April 16, 2006.
Florence enjoyed her life as a homemaker.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; St. Anne Sodality; Daughters of Isabella Glennon Circle #322; St. Marys Auxiliary; Western Catholic Union; and Argyle V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary, Post #8045.
Florence enjoyed quilting, fishing, and her dogs.
Survivors include one son, John (Kathy) Branson, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Kyle Branson; Justin Branson; Chelsea Branson; three brothers, Marvin (Janet) Buthod, Jefferson City; Walter (Diane) Buthod, Foristell; Norman (Ingrid) Buthod, Westphalia; three sisters, Grace Lansford, Jefferson City; Dorothy (Marvin) Phillips, Jefferson City; Rose Edler, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Clarence Buthod; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Lansford, and Herb Edler.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia.
