Eugene Francis Schwartze, 87, of Vienna, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Westphalia Hills.
He was born August 10, 1930, in Vienna, Missouri, the son of the late Peter and Helen (Luebbert) Schwartze.
He was united in marriage on August 11, 1951, in Rolla, Missouri to Mary Ellen Murphy who survives.
Eugene worked 34 years for the Missouri National Guard in the U.S. Property Fiscal Office.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vienna and long-time member of the Lions Club. He also worked on the Loaves and Fishes committee and the Vienna Cemetery committee. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He especially enjoyed his coffee with friends everyday.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Schwartze; three children, Randy Schwartze, Warsaw, MO; Linda (Harvey) Bunyard, St. Martins; Lisa (Anthony) Castillo, Taos; six grandchildren, Jason Long, James Schwartze, Justin Long, Aaron Castillo, Taylor Castillo, Daniel Castillo; four great-grandchildren, Jack Castillo, Charlie Castillo, Ethan Long, Elise Long; two great-grandchildren due including Clara Long due next week; and one sister, Lorene Kampeter, Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Larry Schwartze; one sister, Irma Moran; and a brother, Gerald Schwartze.
Private family services will be held at a later time.
