Edward John Huhmann

Edward John Huhmann, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.

Edward was born on December 15, 1928, in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the son of Joseph Mathias and Mary Ann (Luebbert) Huhmann. 

On May 14, 1960, he was united in marriage to Audrey Jean Weiler in Jefferson City, who preceded him in death on January 27, 2013.

He served with the United States Navy in the Korean Conflict.  

A carpenter most of his life, he worked most recently with Capstick Brothers Construction in St. Louis.   

He loved to spend his time outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming.  He was thrilled with the approaching birth of his first great-grandchild, Roy.   

He is survived by four sons, Dean (Margaret) Huhmann, Florissant; Ronald (Nancy) Huhmann, Florissant; Howard (Robin) Huhmann, Chesterfield; and Albert (Julie) Huhmann, Florissant; five grandchildren, Kimberly Huhmann, Zachary Huhmann, Mary Huhmann, Matt (A.K. A. Jennifer Carroll), and John Huhmann; one great-grandson, Roy James Crecelius, due in February; a sister, Rita Lewis, Malibu, California; a sister-in-law, Del Huhmann, Tuscumbia; and a brother-in-law, Robert Popp, O’Fallon. 

He was preceded in death by wife, Audrey; two brothers, Robert Huhmann, and Paul (Jean) Huhmann; four sisters, Lucille Huhmann, Norma Allain, Anne (Steve) Lutz, and Rosemary Popp; and a brother-in-law, Alex Lewis.

Visitation will be 10-12:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, at St. Martin Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. with the Very Rev. Jason T. Doke, officiating. 

Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery West.

Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Parish Fund.
