Dora Azalee Turner, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 4, 1922, in Beech Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Thomas Newton and Margie Elizabeth (Merts) Barr.
At the age of 19, Dora moved to St. Louis. She met and married Tom Turner who preceded her in death.
Dora worked in the food industry for over 57 years in the St. Louis area. She enjoyed her work and visiting with friends.
She was a very active member of Tower Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis for over 35 years.
Dora had a passion for her work and doted on her beloved nieces and nephews with her love and affection, as well as her many cousins and dear friends of all ages.
Survivors include one sister, Sarah Tina Malone, Jefferson City; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Barr, Paragould, AR; and Betty Barr, Memphis, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Vertie Jetton; six brothers, infant twins, Herbert and Colbert Barr; Herschel (Mayo) Barr; Lavern (Lucy) Barr; Maurice Barr; and Harrison Barr.
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Monte Shinkle officiating.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Greene County Memorial Cemetery in Paragould, Arkansas.
