Connie Joan Rackers, 65, of St. Martins, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born April 14, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of the late Calvin Lloyd and Shirley Jean (Kellison) Beard.
She was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson City High School, a 1971 graduate of Jefferson City Public Schools Practical Nursing program, and a 1974 graduate of St. Lukes Nursing program.
Connie was united in marriage on September 17, 1982, in Jefferson City, to Charles William Rackers who survives.
Connie worked for over 45 years at various positions as a registered nurse with St. Lukes in Kansas City, St. Marys Hospital in Jefferson City, Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, CMMP Surgery Center, and with the State of Missouri Health and Senior Services as a nurse surveyor.
She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church and Meadow Lake Acre Country Club. Connie volunteered at St. Martin Catholic School and St. Joseph Catholic School. In her free time, she loved working out, traveling with her husband, and golf.
Connie will be remembered as a loving Nana to Madeline, Claire, Hudson, Jack, her cousins, and her friends.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Rackers, St. Martins; two children, Anne Rackers, St. Louis; Gabriel Rackers, Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Madeline Carel, Claire Carel, Hudson Bray, Jackson Bray; two sisters, Brenda (Charles) Jaegers, Millersburg; Linda (Ralph) Bray, Jefferson City; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Rich (Rita) Rackers, Jefferson City; Steve Rackers, Jefferson City; Brenda (Rado) Popp, Jefferson City; Jane Rackers, Wardsville; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Ann Rackers; brother-in-law, Robert Ahsens; and a nephew, Jacob Popp.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon Friday, September 1, 2017, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen officiating.
Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 31st, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:15 p.m.
