CLETUS OTTO DISTLER

Cletus Otto Distler, 80, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Center. He was born on May 2, 1925 in Jefferson City, the son of Joseph Martin and Josephine Margaret Hentges Distler. He was married to Charlene Hilda Blochberger, his wife of fifty-six years, who survives at the home. A graduate of St. Peter High School, Mr. Distler was employed with the Missouri Farm Bureau for over thirty-eight years before retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph. Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Raymond and Jane M. Distler, Leawood, KS; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Kaye Distler and Garth W. Englund, Jr., Greenwood Village, Colo; three grandchildren, Catherine L. Distler, Garth W. Englund III, and Anders J. Englund; one brother and sister-in-law, Clemence Clem and Rose Distler, California, MO; three sisters, Bernadine Poetker and Irene Kuebler, both of Jefferson City, and Mildred Wankum, Rochester, MN; one brother-in-law, Emil Schwartz, Westphalia; and one sister-in-law, Agnes Distler, Jefferson City; and many nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by one brother, Anthony Distler; and two sisters, Colletta J. Rademann and Rosemary Schwartz. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Jeremy A. Secrist officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17th , at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Cathedral Foundation, 2305 W.
