Cletus Herbert Kempker, 83, of Henley, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
He was born December 13, 1936, in Wardsville, Missouri, the son of the late Anton A. and Gusta M. (Leven) Kempker.
Cletus serviced his country in the United States Army.
He was united in marriage on October 9, 1965, in St. Joseph Church in Jefferson City to Rose Margaret Luebbert who survives at the home.
Cletus spent his life as a farmer which included dairy, row crops, and beef cattle.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home, Knights of Columbus Council 3267, and the American Legion. He was a board member with Cole County Farm Bureau, Farmway Services, MFA, MFA Oil, and Mid-America Dairymen. He enjoyed reading, talking to people, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Kempker, Henley; three children, Richard “Rick” (Sheri) Kempker, Jefferson City; Carol (Norbert) Dickneite, St. Elizabeth; Randall “Randy” Kempker, Henley; six grandchildren, Kylie (Mike) Rollins, Adam Kempker, Madison Kempker, Jamie Dickneite, Jenna Dickneite, Jada Dickneite; and three great-grandchildren, Waylon Rollins, Henley Rollins, and Bodie Rollins.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City with a prayer service at 3 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home with the Rev. Callistus C. Okoroji officiating. The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are required while in attendance. Seating will be limited to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Burial with military honors will be in Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Cemetery.
