CHARLES COLLEY "CHARLIE" SCHWALLER

February 27, 1914 — January 22, 2002

He was born in Jefferson City to Judge Andrew J. and Minnie Colley Schwaller. He was married on August 1, 1940 in Jefferson City to Alvina Mae Papin who survives at the home. He was employed with the Missouri Department of Employment Security; managed several downtown Jefferson City businesses; and in 1960 opened the Bermuda Shop which he owned and operated with his wife until retiring in 1980. He spent much of his retirement years with his wife in Palm Springs, California. Other survivors include a daughter, Sara S. Armellini, Eureka Springs, Arkansas; a sister, Nancy A. Northcutt, Holts Summit; and a brother, Paul F. "Pat" Schwaller, Jefferson City. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and previously at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a founding member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club where he shot the first Hole-in-One; Fraternal Order of Eagles; American Legion; had served as a page in the Missouri State Senate; and had been a swimming instructor with the YMCA. Memorials are suggessted to St. Peter Church Building Fund. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
