Brian William Smith

Brian William Smith, 59, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

He was born on May 19, 1961, at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, the son of William (Bill) and Carolyn (Phillips) Smith.

Brian graduated in 1980 from Jefferson City High School.

He married his high school sweetheart, Donna (Bungart) Smith on August 28, 1982, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City.

Brian spent his career working as an auto body technician for several businesses including his father at Bill Smith’s Auto Body, Tambke Auto Body, Body Magic, Boyce Auto Body, and was currently working at Riley Chevrolet.

Brian was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 33 years in Russellville and St Martins. He previously served as Deputy Grand Knight and Grand Knight and became a Fourth Degree member. He was also a member of the Elks 513.

Brian loved spending time with his family at the lake and family vacations. He was an excellent cook and loved creating special recipes for his family and friends to enjoy. Brian also enjoyed going to watch the drag races with his Dad and sons.

Survivors include his wife Donna; two children, Alan (Shelly) Smith; Nathan (Megan) Smith; four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Blaine, Grayson and Noah; his mother, Carolyn Smith; one sister, Aimee (Matt) Petree; father and mother in-law, Ambrose and Dolores Bungart; sister-in-law, Vicki (Jim) Clad; brother-in-law, Mike (Renee) Bungart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Smith.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Doke officiating. The service will be live-streamed for those who wish to watch remotely. The link can be found on Brian’s obituary page under Tribute Wall at www.dulletrimble.com.

The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are suggested while in attendance.

Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Jefferson City.

Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin Catholic School, Masses, or to the American Cancer Society.
