Ann Teresa “Nancy” Van Loo, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 6, 2022, surrounded by her family, friends, and her faithful puppy, Willie.
She was born July 23, 1936, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the daughter of Joseph Patrick and Mary Agnes (Murphy) Ferguson.
She was united in marriage on September 25, 1953, in Bronx, New York to George Daniel Van Loo who preceded her in death on April 2, 2014.
Nancy was a medical assistant for the Visiting Hospice Nurses of Southeast Missouri for many years. More recently she worked parttime as a cook for the priests at the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Sodality and Fifty Plus Club.
She enjoyed playing cards, dominos, reading, and was always listening to music especially Daniel O’Donnell. Her life was a life of service to others, not only for her family, but her friends and neighbors. She loved visiting with the ladies living on Chapel Hill and keeping up with the news on Facebook. She adored her puppy, Willie, who was with her to the end.
Survivors include two sons, Chuck (Maggie) Van Loo, Holts Summit; Chris (Claudia) Van Loo, Riverside, California; two daughters-in-law, Donna Van Loo, Chatsworth, California; Julie Van Loo, Santa Clarita, CA; seven grandchildren, Jim (Jennifer) Van Loo, Jason (Wendy) Van Loo, Richard (Danielle) Woodson, Brian (Lauren) Van Loo, Amber (Matt) Suchaire, Tyler (Kristen) Van Loo, and Brandon (Stephanie) Van Loo; eleven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Christine LaPlante, Tucson, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sons, Dan Van Loo, and Mark Van Loo.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022, St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with a rosary at 9:00 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022, at St. Andrew Catholic Church with the Rev. Roberto M. Ike officiating.
Burial will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew Catholic Church.
