William Perry Woods, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Jefferson City Manor.
He was born November 9, 1932, in Hartsburg, Missouri, the son of the late Fred and Iness (South) Woods.
William served in the United States Army from 1957-1959.
He was united in marriage on April 5, 1952, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins to Dorothy Ann Schwenewerk who preceded him in death on May 4, 2003.
William worked in construction for several area construction companies.
He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and squirrel hunting.
Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Riggs, Versailles, MO; Joyce Tarr, Chamois; five grandchildren, Angela Masters, Cody Riggs, Montana Woods, Trisha Woods, Jody Woods; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Woods, Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, son, Michael Alan Woods; grandson, Perry Wallace; a sister, Gladys Martin; and three brothers, Wilbert Woods, Henry Woods, and Roy Birdsong.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Doke officiating.
The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are suggested while in attendance.
Burial with military honors will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association
