Wanda Kay Lehmen

Wanda Kay Lehmen, 68, of Osage Bend, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020, at University Hospital in Columbia.

She was born May 23, 1951 in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Jerome Henry and Pauline Margaret (Utrecht) Rackers.

She was a 1969 graduate of Helias High School.

On September 18, 1971, at St. Peter Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Henry Lehmen who survives at the home.

Wanda worked for St. Mary’s Hospital as a Catering Associate. In earlier years, she worked in the billing department at the News Tribune, and the Cole County Court House in Paul Hogg’s office. She also enjoyed babysitting and cleaning homes.

She was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church and participated in Perpetual Adoration at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church for thirty-four years when it began in 1986.

Wanda loved to cut grass, quilt, play cards, and talk to anyone who would listen. Her favorite times were with her family, especially at the river and seeing her grandchildren in their sporting events. Wanda had a zest for life.

Other survivors include her children, Brian (Robyn) Lehmen, Centertown; Brad (Denise) Lehmen, Osage Bend; and Sarah (Ryan) Sullens, Taos; seven grandchildren, Brayden Lehmen, Brooke Lehmen, Devin Lehmen, Emma Lehmen, Lydia Sullens, Kinley Sullens and Jace Sullens; siblings, Albert (Hedy) Rackers, Columbia; Betty (Glenn) Rackers, Wardsville; Ted (Vickie) Rackers, Jefferson City; and Mary Diemler, Jefferson City; one sister-in-law, Janie (Dave) Schnieders, Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Glenn Rackers, and a brother-in-law Anthony “Tony” Diemler.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend with the Rev. James Finder officiating.

Burial will be in St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Margaret of Antioch Quilter’s Group.
