Sabina Christine (Massman) Plassmeyer, 100, of Westphalia passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Westphalia Hills. She was born to the late William and Louise (Heckemeyer) Massman on April 3, 1916, in Folk, MO. She was united in marriage on July 12, 1947 to Bernard J. Plassmeyer who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia and a previous member of the Westphalia Ladies Sodality. Sabina was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved to read and was well known for her hand pressed homemade butterscotch cookies. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and grand-puppies. Sabina is survived by three children: Susan (Robert) Buschjost, St. Thomas; William Plassmeyer, Westphalia; and John (Kristi) Plassmeyer, Westphalia. She is also survived by three granddaughters: Anna (Darin) Wallis, Springfield; Debby Buschjost, Wardsville; and Amanda (Michael) Wooten, St. Thomas. Five great-grandchildren: Caleb Buechter, Mason Wallis, Eli Wallis, Ava Buschjost, Evelyn Wooten and one great-grandson due in February. One sister-in-law, Marilyn Plassmeyer, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, one brother Al Massman and wife Clara, one sister Loretta Schwartz and husband Tony, one niece Irene Temmen, two nephews Jim and Jerry Schwartz, mother and father-in-law John and Mary Plassmeyer, two brother-in-laws Herb and Tony Plassmeyer and three sister-in-laws Viola Hodges, Rita Mengwasser and Evelyn Thurman. Visitation will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, with the Rev. Mark S. Smith as the Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Westphalia. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, and St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in St. Thomas.
