Mildred Marie Murphy, 88, formerly of Russellville, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020, at the Rosewood Health and Rehab in Independence, Missouri.
She was born March 6, 1932, in Russellville, the daughter of the late Lemuel “L.L.” and Josephine (Hirschvogel) Jasper.
Mildred was a 1950 graduate of Russellville High School.
She was united in marriage on May 26, 1951, in Jefferson City, to Robert Lester Murphy who preceded her in death on January 19, 2004.
Mildred worked as a store clerk and cashier for the Russellville Locker and Grocery for many years.
She was a member of Cole Springs Baptist Church in Russellville where she taught Sunday School and was the church clerk. Mildred and her husband Bob were caretakers of Enloe Cemetery for over ten years. She enjoyed crocheting, handwork, ceramics, and gardening.
Survivors include her son, Bruce (Lorna) Murphy, Gladstone, MO; one sister-in-law, Sue Murphy Jasper, California, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Robert W. Murphy; and a brother, Ray Jasper.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the Cole Springs Baptist Church in Russellville.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Enloe Cemetery Pavilion in Russellville with Pastor Steve Webb and Pastor Michael Hare officiating. Burial will follow at Enloe Cemetery. The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines
Memorials are suggested to Cole Springs Baptist Church or to Gideons International.
