JOHN EARNEST LILLESTON

October 22, 1925 — July 27, 2004

John Earnest Lilleston, 78, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at St. Marys Medical Center. He was born on October 22, 1925 in Moberly, MO, the son of John Randall and Mattie Jane Solimon Lilleston. He was married on August 1, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN, to Joanne Winifred McKnight who died on February 17, 1989. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas Randall & Kristi Lilleston, Alexandria, Virginia; and John David Lilleston, Tampa, Florida; five daughters and sons-in-law, Miriam and Tim Schepers; Linda and Dennis McKinney; Patty and Dale Henry; and Stephanie and Chip Webb, all of Jefferson City; and Peggy and Jerry Lynch, Holts Summit; twelve grandchildren, Matthew Schepers, Kim Schepers, Jessica Felchak, Chris McKinney, Jeremy Henry, A.J. Henry, David Smith, Peter Smith, Michael Smith, Joshua Webb, Eric Webb, and Taylor Webb; and two great-grandchildren, Noah Felchak and Haden Felchak. He was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Lilleston; one brother, Cotton Lilleston; and two sisters, Dorothy Jackson and Viola Warford. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Roy Sone Post Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003, 217 E. Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Those wishing to send condolences or tributes to the family may do so at www.dulletrimble.com A 1943 graduate of Moberly High School, he was a 1948 graduate of Moberly Junior College where he was elected vice president of his class. Mr. Lilleston retired in 1984 as Vice President of Finance with Missouri Power and Light Company where he had been employed for thirty-five years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict serving as Radioman Third Class. He was a past Quartermaster and lifetime member of Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003; American Legion Post 5; Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce; Meadow Lake Acres Country Club; and was a former treasurer of Missouri Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid sportsman, golfer, fisherman, and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
