HUGO JEROME LUEBBERT

Hugo Jerome Luebbert, 91, of Jefferson City, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born on April 7, 1919, in Argyle, Mo, the son of the late Bernard H. and Carolina Schmitz Luebbert. Hugo was a United States Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II. He was united in marriage on June 28, 1941, in Loose Creek, Mo. to Josephine Sophia Niekamp who preceded him in death on June 21, 2005. Mr. Luebbert was employed with A & P Tea Company and Schultes Fresh Foods Store as a meat cutter. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Holy Name Society, and the American Legion. Hugo enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, dominos, and spending time with his family. Hugo was a loving and gentle soul who never met a stranger. He had been a resident of Summit Villa for the past two years where he received special love and attention from his many friends and wonderful staff and especially enjoyed receiving daily kisses from the girls at the home.
Survivors include: three children, Marilyn Williams, Jefferson City; Darlene (Perry) Bridges, Olathe, Ks.; and Gary (Doris) Luebbert, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Scot (Kim) Williams, Sandra Crawford, Bradley Bridges, Cindy (Cleverson) Souza, Matthew (Kim) Bridges, Derek Luebbert, Nathan Luebbert; five great-grandchildren, Sara Williams, Brianna Souza, Genevieve Bridges, Krista Bridges, Corbin Bridges; and one sister-in-law, Mary Luebbert. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jack Williams; four brothers, Bill, Leo, Carl, John Luebbert; and three sisters, Sabina Borgmeyer, Alma Fennewald, and Josephine Struemph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Basil Eruo officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway St., Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
