Glenn Howard Dothage, 80, of Jefferson City, formerly of Koeltztown passed away on his birthday, June 26, 2019, at Oak Tree Villas.
He was born June 26, 1939, in Hopewell, Missouri, the son of the late Howard August and Marie (Knapeheide) Dothage.
He was united in marriage to Jane Welma Reinhardt, on August 6, 1960, in Warrenton, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2016.
A 1957 graduate of Warren County R3 High School, Glenn received his Physical Education degree from Culver-Stockton College in 1961.
Glenn worked teaching and coaching basketball, baseball, softball, and track from 1961 until his retirement in 1996. He then coached part-time until the early 2000’s. The schools included Mark Twain High School, Center, MO; Silex High School, Silex, MO; Warrenton High School, Warrenton, MO; Valmeyer High School, Valmeyer, IL; Fatima High School, Westphalia, MO; Southern Boone County High School, Ashland, MO; Vienna High School, Vienna, MO; and St. Elizabeth High School, St. Elizabeth, MO.
During his career, the following schools earned district titles: Silex High School, 1 baseball; Valmeyer High School, 6 baseball, 1 basketball; Fatima High School, 3 baseball, 2 softball; and Southern Boone County, 1 basketball, 1 softball. Other titles included, Fatima High School, 4th in State, softball; and Vienna High School, Conference Champions, baseball.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vienna and the Lion’s Club.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, driving country roads, rock art and crafts, and hiking with EZ, his dog.
Survivors include two sons, Rod Dothage, Jefferson City; Courtney (Karen) Dothage, Ashland; and three grandchildren, Kohl Dothage, Shai Dothage, and Morrow Dothage.
He was preceded in death by parents; and his wife, Jane.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019, with a service to follow at 6 p.m. at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia.
