EMIL JOHN LUECKENOTTE

October 23, 1918 — February 18, 2004

Emil John Lueckenotte, 85, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on October 23, 1918 in St. Thomas, the son of John and Mary Magdalene Bock Lueckenotte. He was married on June 5, 1946 in Osage Bend to Hilda Margaret Wolken who survives at the home. Survivors include four sons and their wives, Lawrence and Annette Lueckenotte, Ballwin, MO; Roger and Rita Lueckenotte, Galena, MO; Fr. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte, Jefferson City; and Samuel and Barbara Lueckenotte, Wildwood, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Jerald Ross, Morris, CT; four grandchildren, Eric Ross; Elizabeth Ross; Emily Lueckenotte; and Ryan Lueckenotte; and two brothers, Thomas P. Lueckenotte, St. Thomas, MO; and Cletus A. Lueckenotte, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis Lueckenotte, Felix Lueckenotte, and Isadore Lueckenotte; and five sisters, Helen Merz, Rose Ender, Veronica Veit, Regina Grandcolas, and Laurentia Lueckenotte. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte and concelebrating priests officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101; Arthritis Foundation, 8390 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63124; or Helias Foundation, POB 694, Jefferson City, MO 65102. He retired in 1982 as manager of the paint and hardware department at Montgomery-Ward and Company where he had been employed for over forty years. He was a member at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served as usher and member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Council 2149.
